Ways of Loading Non-Amazon books on Your Kindle Fire

You can transfer all kinds of books to your kindle within a few minutes. Yes, you can even transfer non-Amazon books to your Kindle fire also. Let’s check out.


The Kindle Fire device works wonderful as a shopping device of Amazon. But you should not have wedged to the books bought from Amazon only. File Format for Kindle Fire

Amazon kindle usually reads .mobi files. Even you can read the book in ePub format, but you will either need to convert into the program like Calibre or install a reading app named Aldiko on your Fire. The supported files for Kindle are:
  • KF8 Kindle Format 8 
  • MOBI
  • AZW (This is essentially a copy protected version of .mobi)
  • PRC

Methods

Transferring your Files by Email

Your kindle files can be emailed as attachments. This is till now the easiest, simplest and trouble free way to do this. The files must be in any of the supported formats and all these will be added to the Docs section. For doing this you will need to log on to your Amazon.com account and go to manage your content and devices option and then to Personal document settings. An authorized email address and account will be needed to be setup. Only the emails that will come from the approved email address will work properly. Transferring your Files by USB

If you use any micro USB cable then connect it to PC or laptop, and you can transfer your files to and from your Kindle Fire just like you do in an external hard drive. You can place any .mobi files in books folder and any .pdf files and other format files in the documents folder. You will need to restart your Kindle device so that it can recognize the new content. Transferring Files using Dropbox

The Dropbox can also be used for transferring the files.
  • If you use Dropbox, then you can navigate to e-book file instead of just clicking on it for opening it and you just need to select the triangle at the right of the file name.
  • Next click on the Export option.
  • Select the option to save to SD card as this will save your internal storage to be used.
  • You can select either book which is in .mobi files or documents which are in .pdf, .txt. .doc. and another files format.
  • Again, click on Export.
  • After this restart, your Kindle device and your books will appear that.
  • If any book has not appeared then check whether it has been copied properly or not on the hard drive of Kindle and check the folder chose me for the correct file format.
